The CAPS enabled competitive choice marketplace

Having an open non proprietary platform providing a unified view of the UK body shop repair community will also create the opportunity to develop a competitive entrepreneurial applications marketplace based upon the pre authorised availability of this claims data. CAPS data today has already enabled some of these new application services such as:-

  • Automated claims tracking online with cross industry standardised business measurements.
  • Cycle time management (CTM) business improvement analysis tools.
  • Line item invoice matching and auto payment based upon bespoke business rules.
  • Automated direct loading of new work instructions into a bodyshops management system, with new first notification of loss (FNOL) applications.
  • The possibility for new smart work direction applications that would in the future allow work to be automatically directed to bodyshops based upon availability to do the work.

The CAPS consortium has also approached global system application providers that are already integrating the potential of CAPS claims data into their own new solutions being announced in early 2008.

For a complete list of those applications that are being developed as CAPS enabled applications by independent third party companies please contact the CAPS consortium directly. SmartClaim is the first CAPS enabled business performance improvement analysis tool that is currently used internally to demonstrate the power of the CAPS claims data and to offer a CAPS pilot evaluation services to prospective customers. It contains the ability to benchmark an insurer’s network against an industry average and best in class cycle time management statistics as well as provide comprehensive online claims tracking facilities both to the call centre and policyhlder. Although SmartClaim is not for sale as an application today it can be made available to insurers as a valuable tool during the startup connection phase of creating a CAPS enabled network.
